Trust Our Experts!

Hawk Pest offers effective and humane wildlife removal. Our goal is to resolve your critter issues effectively and humanely. We use non-lethal, harmless cage traps to capture most critters. We also work together with animal shelters, veterinarians and state wildlife agencies to ensure proper handling, rehabilitation and relocation of wildlife trapped on your property. Due to Georgia’s lush and green environment, residents can easily find themselves with opportunistic animals on their property. Often, these animals are either seeking food or shelter. While most animals in Georgia don’t present a physical threat to people unless threatened or rabid, they can pose a threat to pets and they can also carry diseases. If you discover a wild animal on your property, DO NOT attempt to capture it yourself and be sure that your family and pets keep a safe distance. It is not recommended that you touch, feed or trap a wild animal. Call a licensed expert to safely handle the situation. Raccoons, Foxes, Skunks and Groundhogs are all rabies vector species, meaning they are capable of carrying rabies. Rabies is a fatal disease that can be transmitted to pets and people via an infected animal bite. Aside from the risks of rabies, wild animals can carry a plethora of other diseases as well, many of which can be passed by the the fleas and ticks they carry on their bodies. If a wild animal has taken refuge on your property, it is important to have a wildlife removal expert relocate the animal as soon as possible to avoid contamination of the area.

Our Process

Wildlife removal and animal trapping require specific knowledge for success. Our experts are highly trained, licensed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and insured. Our technicians will begin by assessing the situation on your property to verify or properly identify the species of animal present. They will then setup harmless cage traps loaded with bait to entice the animal inside. Once the animal enters the cage to get the bait, they will step on a pressure plate inside that triggers the door to shut behind them. Once this happens, the animal will be unable to open it back up, resulting in a successful trapping. Our technicians will check all traps every 24 hours and remove any trapped animals from your property. Once safely removed, the animal will be assessed by a professional to determine if it is carrying rabies. If it is, it will need to be humanely euthanized to prevent continued suffering of the animal and the spread of the disease. If the animal displays no signs of carrying rabies, it will be relocated and released into the wild, far from your home. We will then perform a sanitation of the previously affected areas using a natural anti-microbial spray to attempt to kill any bacteria it may have left behind. In the case of raccoon removal, it is important to keep in mind that raccoon feces are very hazardous to pets and people. Many of the diseases raccoons can carry can be passed via contact with their urine or feces. If you have raccoons going through your trash or occupying space on your property, it is a very good idea to have these areas sanitized, which is a service we offer as part of our humane trapping program. We will also take you through a plan to prevent new critters from arriving by teaching you some things you can do to avoid attracting them.
